False Paradise is a gritty film which tells the story of a young black man called Darren who is faced with tragedy when he loses his daughter’s mum. Darren is then faced with the battle of fighting for custody of his daughter Courtney and trying to prove to everyone around him that he is a changed man. Courtney’s grandmother now wants full custody of her. She believes Darren’s previous lifestyle makes him incapable of looking after Courtney. Caught between the past and the present, Darren just wants to prove he is responsible enough to take care of his daughter. False Paradise looks at the choices Darren makes as he deals with the obstacles created by being at the wrong place at the wrong time and now needs to battle to win his daughter back.
